TBL Australia 4×08: First Elimination – Tania and Ramses or Holly and Mel?

Previously on The Biggest Loser Holly and Mel ended up below the Yellow Line alongside Ramses and Tania.
Ramses and Tania are likely to be the bigger threat in the long term and would ordinarily be a certainty for elimination… But Holly’s the holder of the “Double” bracelet, making her a target for those greedy, greedy people.

Who will go? Read on to find out!

Everyone’s giving ye olde mad props to Bob and Tiffany for being the biggest losers of the week.
Bob says he doesn’t really feel the difference but he could just be too sore!

Tania finds it daunting to be on the bottom, thinking her and Ramses and Holly and Mel have done all they can.
Tania asks us what might have happened if Ramses hadn’t been injured. He dropped 8.1kg at the first weigh-in and who knows what will happen.

Holly’s looking to be the quiet, sort of dopey girl like Nicola was in a previous season. Her aside has her looking pretty glum. Mel’s looking pretty glum but a bit more animated!

Jodi’s saying that the girls haven’t got the motivation, they have it and then lose motivation again.
They go back and forth on Ramses being injured but did well and Holly’s unmotivated but did well.

Teresa talks to Ramses and says that once he strengthens his core his back won’t worry him at all.
Sharif tells him that Ramses has been giving everything he’s got and Ramses was persevering through the pain. Teresa doesn’t want them to give up, she thinks they have massive potential.

Andrew and Nathan have a chat to Holly and Mel. Nathan asks them what the main reason is they’re there and Holly says Mel. Nathan’s not sure Holly’s head is in the game.
Andrew feels for Mel who’s stuck with Holly. Mel wants to live her life and enjoy it and not waste it.
Mel’s going to go off and try to convince Holly to stick it out.
Nathan says if Holly goes then the bracelet comes back into the game and he’d much rather have it floating around.

Jedi says that they’re changing someone’s lives and you just have to hope you make the right decision.

“Make Fat Blaster a part of your life and you too could be a big loser.” Not sure that’s the best way to sell the product, Marty! Oh ads, how you vex me.

Everyone heads off to elimination in their Loser gear for a change. Usually potential nominees are at least wearing their Sunday Best.

Bob seems to be flying solo. Not sure where Tiffany’s got to, hopefully she’s just having a rest.

Ajay starts recapping the events of the week for the Losers… who have just lived through them. And I guess us, who’ve been watching for the past week. Thanks, Ajay!

Ajay asks Holly if she feels vulnerable whilst wearing the Double bracelet. Holly says yes, she’s sure there’s some who’d kill for the $400,000.
Mel wants to stay as long as possible to get their lives back on track, start their new lives and be healthy.

Tania says you’re learning something new every day. She’s not going to go home and do nothing, she’s definitely going to go home and do something.
Ramses says everyone knows he has a weakness, he’s tried his best but the scales have shown it’s not enough.

Jedi says the people they’ve voted for are strong and will be able to do it on the outside. They’ll thrive. The couple they’ve not voted for, they need to stay and learn and grow within themselves.
Jedi: Tania and Ramses

Interesting!

Cameron says Holly and Mel are very young and have a lot to learn. Ramses and Tania are newlyweds and there’s nothing more important that being married and bringing up little Aussie kids with a good diet. They all need it but they’ve voted for…
Cameron and Sammy: Holly and Mel

H&M: 1
T&R: 1

Stewart says they’ve voted for the couple who hasn’t shown them a lot of team bonding and a lack of support for each other. The team they’re not voting for need to work on relationship building. Interesting.
Stewart and Amanda: Tania and Ramses

H&M: 1
T&R: 2

Nathan says that one couple could do it much better on the outside where the constraints of the game don’t exist and one couple could do with staying here longer.
Nathan lifts his lid to reveal the dreaded white glow! Yes, an ad break already. Not sure why since that would only put Tania and Ramses on 3, a not insurmountable margin.

After the ad break we get back to the show…
Nathan and Andrew: Tania and Ramses

H&M: 1
T&R: 3

One more vote is enough to send Tania and Ramses home as they were the smallest losers for the week.

Sharif says both couples have shown a desire to be there and also shown a desire to go home. They’re not sure what to go on and in the end they went with their heart.
Sharif and Teresa: Tania and Ramses!

Well I never. Was expecting Holly and Mel to be gone but it seems sanity prevailed. Thank heavens, I couldn’t deal with 11 more weeks of Tania.

Tania says it may end here on the show but they’re going to be at the finale and they’re going to show the other guys and everyone at home that you don’t the show to lose weight!

Holly says she’s grateful to be there and it gives her and Mel the chance to live healthy lives and for them to be best friends again.

Amanda, as part of the only other married couple, is asked for her thoughts. Amanda says to look after each other and support each other and they’ll get there just fine.

Tania and Ramses, you will not be the Biggest Losers. Hugs all round!
Holly’s still in tears.

And in a departure from the norm they depart by boat, not spiffy black car!

Ajay warns the remainders that they’re on borrowed time and every week another couple’s journey will end.

They all file out. I half expect Holly and Mel to check under the other platters but they don’t. I want to know, dagnabbit!

Tania and Ramses arrive home to hugs and kisses all round.
2 months on… They’re running down the street and doing weird arches on a park bench, complete with mooseknuckle for Tania. Eww!
They’re both still very obviously overweight but they’re getting through some fairly intense exercise.
Ramses looks a little lighter around the face and Tania seems to have some flappy skin problems on her arms.
I’d’ve expected more but apparently they’ve only lost 15.9kg (Ramses) and 11.7kg (Tania) since appearing on the show. Not the most impressive results ever!

And tomorrow night the race to Sydney is on! They’re leaving Fitzroy already and have a huge race from there back to the new house which will be revealed later in the week.
And the new place? Still has a bunch of white… and is MASSIVE.
And still later in the week someone’s going to hospital with the siren and flashers going and Mr Voiceover Man says someone comes “to the end of the road”. I suspect it would’ve been all over the news if someone had died, but it looks pretty serious nonetheless.
Fingers crossed for whoever it is!
