Motivation to lose weight: Katrina dreams of travelling the world without feeling like she is always in the way of other people. She would also love to buy fashionable clothes and look great wearing them.Katrina is a hard-working mum and carer who doesn’t know where her life has gone; she is desperate to get her confidence back and wants to make herself her number one priority.

Katrina comes from an overweight family and has always been big. Just before her wedding, she got down to around 70 kilos, but once she became pregnant, the weight piled on. She is a closet and emotional eater and constantly snacks. Katrina is currently the biggest she has ever been. Although she has never really got involved with sports, she loves swimming and really wants to get back into it.

She loves her husband Gary, but both of them are enablers and he is also overweight. They have two sons, Aaron, 21, and Josh, 19: both are skinny and live an active life as Katrina only feeds them healthy food. Katrina feels like she has wasted the past 20 years of her life and is desperate to not waste the next 20 years. She is ready to embark on the next chapter of her life.Katrina is a Disability Officer and works shift work, which hasn’t helped her take control of her life. She constantly looks after others and puts herself last. She also dislikes going out through fear of being judged by other people.

With “weight being her disability”, it is time to take stock. She knows that the biggest loser will give her valuable time to focus on herself. Katrina wants higher self-esteem, those she loves to be proud of her and the confidence to walk into a crowd and know she looks fabulous. “To be able to look in a mirror and like what I see will be amazing.”
