TBL Australia 4×38: Red faces Elimination for the first time… well, first time as Red, anyway.

Previously on The Biggest Loser Red lost the weigh-in!
Amanda became the second person to topple Bob’s dominance of The Biggest Loser Honour board!

Tonight… Cameron is considering voting himself out of the game and going home. Will he? Or will someone else be forced out?

Mood’s pretty flat when they get back into the lounge. Quite a few people didn’t do great numbers.
Sammy thought it was great that Shannan and Michelle were there for the weigh-in.
Michelle tells us, as a trainer, it’s a great way to get inside their heads better because they see a whole other side to them.

Shannan tells them they need to start perceiving the changes in their bodies, particularly Sammy, who is struggling.
Bob says, “Two men looked out of the self same bars – one saw mud, the other saw stars. I keep telling ya, when I see ya, I see stars!” Meaghan gives her a bump from the side and says she sees stars, too.
Wonder if the Earth moved as well.

Amanda says nothing can beat being The Biggest Loser, it made her feel so proud!

Blue head downstairs to celebrate winning the weigh-in away from the Reds!
Shannan’s very proud of them all and makes sure they won’t let it go to their heads.

“There is no one safe.” “Except for yourself.” Nathan somehow forgot that. Mmm-hmmm.

Cameron takes Sammy off for a chat. He tells her he wouldn’t be surprised to see Amanda and Sharif vote him off. He wants to know if she thinks his attitude is hindering her.
Sammy says to him that she knows if he goes home he won’t continue to lose weight. Cam says he’s worried about her and she says she’s fine. But do you want to be here?
He says he doesn’t want to go home and Sammy says, so he wants to stay? Yes. Yes he does.

Sammy, Cam and Nathan are sitting for a chat in the trophy room. Sammy says obviously Meaghan’s not an option and none of the three of them ought to be an option so it’s down to Sharif or Amanda. Sammy’s swaying towards Amanda and Nathan agrees, saying he’s swaying that way too.

Meaghan, Amanda and Sharif have a chat. They work out if they all vote for Cameron, who’s said he wants to go home. But they realise it’ll be three of them voting Cameron and the other three team members will vote for Amanda, making a split vote which will give Blue the power. Which Meaghan and Sharif say they don’t want.
Amanda then asks if the other two are going to turn against her.
Sharif replies, “Well it’s not a question of whether or not we’ll turn against you, it’s a question of how badly we want to survive.” Thankyou, Sharif. Finally something sensible out of your mouth!

Meaghan points out again that it going to a hung vote puts her and Sharif on the line, just as much as Amanda. And they all want to stay in the game.
Julie: “Be nice for someone to keep me here. To try and keep me here.” Pity party, table of one?

Meaghan figures she’d have to sway someone like Nathan over to her cause if they want to avoid a hung vote.
Meaghan chats to Cam, Sam and Nathan.

Nathan, quite honestly, tells Meaghan that he’d send it to a hung vote before turning on either Cam or Sam.

So Meaghan’s torn and isn’t sure what to do.

Finally! An elimination with everyone dressed in their Monday-best!

Well, except for Nathan who’s just in a daggy shirt. He won’t be going home, of course.
Amanda’s already got the stink-eye out and the votes haven’t even come out yet. Maybe someone told her she’d be going home? It’d be a pretty funny prank, you’d have to admit!

Ajay reminds us that Meaghan still has the Nothing bracelet. That is, of course, totally relevant! I’m sure someone will vote for Meaghan…

Ajay also tells us that a hung vote has only ever happened once in the history of the competition.

Cam is asked if he still wants to be there and Cam says he’s not happy there but he’d not be happy at home either.
Cam’s a little less disappointed and realises you have good weeks and bad weeks after having seen Sharif’s loss.

Sharif is asked if he thinks it should be him going home, since he was the smallest loser. Sharif says it doesn’t matter what he thinks (DUH) it matters what his team mates think. She asked you though, answer the damn question!
Sharif has his bags packed and wouldn’t be sad if he did have to go home, but he’s still got so much to learn.

Ajay asks Amanda if she thinks it’d be unfair if she went home, since she was The Biggest Loser this week. “Interesting question.” Smug smile. She thinks she’ll be voted out no matter what. She’s there on her own, alliances and friendships are going on. She’s isolated and an easy pick. She thought she had an alliance but it’ll be interesting to see.
Ajay puts the “Can you trust your team” question out there. And Amanda says she pretty much can’t. Great!

Meaghan says it was a very hard decision for her, she’s caught right in the middle.

First up is Sammy!
Sammy looked down the line and had nobody in mind. So she thought a bit harder and it came down to who pushes her harder and who helps her more.
She’s voted for… Amanda!

Cue filthy look from Amanda and eye rolling. This is going GREAT!

Amanda’s next. She sees positive people at the table, but some who are negative. Some who are determined and focused and some who are lazy and don’t eat properly. People who really need to be there, like herself. And people who don’t want to be there or want to change, so she’s voted for… Cameron!
And doesn’t look in the least sorry about it, either.

Meaghan felt selfish when she had to write the name on the card. Her vote is purely motivated by self-interest – she wants to keep herself there longer.
The person she’s voting for needs, wants and deserves it. But so does Meaghan. Now it’s a fight for survival, she’s got to do what she needs to in order to stay.
So she’s voted for Amanda as well.
Amanda’s looking a bit more filthy…

Cam’s turn now. Cam thought about how best to help his daughter and himself on the journey. So he’s voted for someone who he can’t 100% trust in this environment.
Real ugly smile from Amanda at that.

One more vote for Amanda will send her home. It’s the other potential backstabber, Sharif!
Can tell an ad break is brewing. Damn it.
Sharif says it’s always hard at elimination. You’re always going to devastate someone. He tries to consider how much someone needs it.

With a heavy heart and a great deal of guilt, he’s voted for Mysterious White Glow.

There’s a lot more at stake than just who needs it at the moment. They can’t deliver control of the elimination to the other team.
So he’s voted for… Amanda. Who makes a weird face at Ajay shortly before starting to break into tears.

Amanda now has 4 votes meaning she’s out!

Ajay asks how it feels, given she was the biggest loser of the week. “It’s their loss. That’s all I need to say.” She goes on to say she was picked, supposedly so she could lose great numbers. But she knew from the start she’d be first to go because you can’t rely on anyone in there. She’s got no real friendships with anyone in there, apart from Teresa.
You don’t suppose that’s because you were really fucking obnoxious towards Sammy the last time you got eliminated, do you? Surprised even Teresa wanted a bar of you. But I suppose Cuckoo Clocks have to stick together.

Ajay asks if she’s angry? Amanda says of course! Very angry! There was talk about building a strong team. She’s not the fittest but she gives it her best. If that’s a weakness or a threat to people then they don’t deserve to have her there. They’ve made a wrong decision.

Surprised by anyone’s vote? Sharif’s. Because he knew how she was feeling. He knew she’d be going today and she’d hoped Sharif might have come along with her.
Why? Sympathy? If you knew you were going anyway what difference does it make?

Ajay asks Sharif if he thinks that Amanda might feel betrayed by him. And Sharif says he knows she might feel that way, but he’s willing to carry that. It would be stupid of them to hand the single vote to Blue. Sometimes you have to make the decision that’s in your own best interests, even though you might like to look after someone.

Ajay tries to cheer Amanda up by saying she’s lost so much weight and so on.
Amanda says she had a death sentence when she came there. But now she’s on her way. And she’s starting to feel some inner peace.

She’s first Red Team Member to be sent home AND it’s the second time she’s been sent home. Ouch!

Amanda now gets a few moments to say her goodbyes. She gets up and walks right over to Nathan first. She tells him to watch his back!
Cameron says she’s going home to a great man in Stewart who knows what she’s been through. Sam says much the same. Meaghan tells her to be strong!

Ajay then rubs a little salt in the wound and tells Red they’ve eliminated someone, not just someone but a friend.
Really? Who else did they send home? Wasn’t it just Amanda?

Amanda arrives home – again! – this time in a crappy taxi. Couldn’t they spring for something nicer? Geez.
Amanda finds Stewart and her daughters there for big cuddles. Awww!

2 months on… She’s still huge but is managing to power through her exercises which is pretty good.
Looks terrible with her own makeup on though. Red lippy is not a good look.
She goes riding on a bicycle (!!!) with her daughters.

Amanda has lost 42.5kg since appearing on the show. Sweet!

Tomorrow night… Michelle’s pissed! Amanda got sent home and Cameron didn’t?

Plus, look who’s bac… *falls asleep*
Sorry, what? Oh, Emazon’s back tomorrow night. And it’s even worse than last time.

Temptation looks like awesomefun though! It’s each of their favourite foods. Like what they had back on that first day where Teresa got a bin and had them all toss out their old favourite foods. Will any of them be able to resist this far along? Hmmm.

Also, more visitors. “Guess who’s returned?” Well, someone who’s been there before. Else how could they “return”? Hmmmmm?

And at the weigh-in can the Reds strike back? We’ll see!

I saw the article UrbanFringe posted yesterday and it makes me think she shouldn't have been accepted onto the show in the first place. Her issues run way too deep for people like Shannan and Michelle to deal with or help her through. She needs some intensive psychiatric treatment by the sounds of it! From the way some of the past contestants have talked about the show really messing with their heads - it was potentially really dangerous putting someone as fragile as Amanda on it. I hope she gets herself sorted out.

I actually knew it would be Amanda going home due to a spoiler story over at the Daily Telegraph - here is the link for anyone wanting to read it:

    http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,27574,25189974-5006009,00.html

Looking forward to Emazon putting Cam in a whole new world of pain - wonder if that will finally motivate him?

  • Yes, it was funny seeing everyone so sure that that story was a spoiler for Amanda going home this week. That story doesn't contain anything to hint at her elimination yesterday, since her loss to date is only 34.4kg, not "almost 50kg". That she spoke from her Central Coast home just means she's eliminated *at some point* - the footage we're seeing now is actually from some time in January or early February. I suspect she'll be back at Fat Camp again before the end since they'll almost certainly have another Eliminated Contestants Challenge. If she somehow makes it through that then she could get back in and get eliminated again! ;)

I did consider pointing all this out beforehand but... I was much too lazy. And amused!

my son reckons amanda is 'creepy' and i find her attitude awful (since the beginning). she really feels more entitled than anyone else, i spose she's used the 'i'm the fattest so i need the most help/consideration/pity' excuse for a long time. everyone else there is very overweight too and they don't roll their eyes and whinge all the time. why should anyone be loyal to her? they've only just met! tedious. i thought sharif and meaghan held themselves very well. thought cam was really nice to amanda and she just ignored him. sam too - horrid. also, wasn't sean voted off or set up for it the week he got biggest loser? amanda has lost a lot this week and good for her, but she was way behind before, yet she has the hide to call others lazy! bit too early for her to be so judgemental, methinks.

looking forward to the rest of the week - everyone seems to get beaten up by the big E!

Thank goodness she didn't sing when she left. I don't think Amanda is a very nice person....she like to play the guilt trip on everyone. It's her fault she was there in the first place. She had already been voted off once, she was never going to hang around for long. Was there any reason that again we didn't get to see Nathan's vote. Two weeks in a row. Put him first next time.
  • Yes. But unfortunately she may yet be back again when they have the probably-inevitable returning contestants challenge. If she sings again then I shall be very cross!
Was definitely getting more and more of a vibe of her not being Good People, but who knows. Producers show us only so much.

Nathan's vote wasn't necessary to the outcome and he'd already made it fairly clear who he'd be voting for. Putting Nathan further up the line would have meant having to miss out on Sam voting Amanda out again, Cam voting Amanda out instead of himself or Meaghan/Sharif "betraying" her. All were more interesting than Nathan sending her home again, methinks!
