TBL Australia 4×30: What weighs seven tons and smells like dead fish?

No, the answer is not Amanda. God you people are mean!

Previously on The Biggest Loser Nathan guzzled 2 litres of milkshake in 20 minutes of pure madness!
Then he went for a Walk with Andrew and brought back Sean and Amanda. They’re now “The Odd Couple”, the White Team.
Faaaantastic!

Tonight is Challenge night. And if the headline wasn’t enough of a clue, it’s to do with moving a whole bunch of fish!

Michelle and Shannan wander into the House to see Amanda and Sean back into the game. Shannan asks her how the shoulder is? “Great!” How’s the leg? “Great!” How’s everything?” “Great! Everything’s great!”

Sean reveals that Ben said to him that since it was Sean’s idea to go on the show, he should see it through.
Stewart’s lighter than when Amanda met him, but Amanda needs a lot more work, so Stewart’s letting her go for a bit.

Shannan’s super happy about having some of his peeps back.
Amanda’s very worried about the whipping she’s going to get now she’s back!

Michelle’s team, on the other hand, is feeling a bit down. Michelle tells them they’ve knocked them out before, they’ll knock them out again!

And Andrew is at last allowed to train properly again! So he’s on the spin bikes with the rest of them. It’s not clear if he has full clearance or just spin bikes, guess we might find out at tonight’s challenge!

Shannan’s worried about Amanda starting training again. Stewart’s great support for her, but he also enables her a bit. He makes excuses for her and makes allowances.
Amanda’s running on the treadmill. Shannan gets her going at 9km/h but she’s got a look of determination on her face and bumps it up to 12.2km/h. She hops off a second or two early, but she mostly got through it so Shannan’s very happy with her.
Teresa’s worried by Amanda getting to 12 because Teresa’s only managed 17km/h herself. You could try being happy for her, it probably won’t hurt…
Sean’s also managed to max out the treadmill, running at 20km/h. I’d thought they went faster, maybe they’re different models though.

Now it’s time to head off for the weekly Challenge. They seem to be out on the docks. Very empty though.
There’s a pallet in each of their colours at either end of a 50m area of the wharf-y thing… which just happens to be near Ajay, fancy that!

70,000 tins of Safcol tuna is on one set of pallets.
Each couple needs to move 10,000 tins of the junk from one pallet to the empty one. Using nothing but their bare hands.
8,800 of the tins are packaged up nicely into cartons. 1,200 are individual tins. Ouch!

First couple to stack all 10,000 tins on their winning pallet will win.
But the prize will be worth every drop of sweat. The winners will walk away with “a staggering $10,000. Thanks to Safcol tuna.”
Mel’s engaged and planning on getting married next year so that’s a bunch of money towards her wedding, she says!

Andrew still has a knee injury and is restricted to stacking, only. Which means Nathan will have to shift the whole ton by himself.
But Nathan tells us he’s up for that challenge, no problems!

Holly’s got her gameface on, as does Mel. Holly tells us that her and Mel were determined to do this!

Nathan tells us the Brothers will dominate again, they’ve got it in the bag, no worries!

Julie says Meaghan’s a good partner for her in this because she’s fast, strong and has got the stamina to do well!

Holly and Mel’s strategy is to start at the top of the pile and make sure to stack it up properly as they go along, otherwise you fall behind!

Nathan’s worked out he’s got to carry twice as much as everyone else. His stacks are heavy and look quite precarious!

Everyone comments on how hard it is to carry the singles. Why nobody thinks to just carry a few at a time. Ten each trip is only 120 trips, it’s not so bad!

Nathan and Andrew are trying to psych everyone else out. Sammy asks Mel what colour wedding dress she wants and Andrew tells Mel to have a sit down and chat about it. Mel says he may as well!

Then Holly and Nathan set off at the same time and Holly challenges him to a race… not long after saying, “Don’t drop them fatboy!” :-D

Tiffany says she’s sick of the singles, they’re difficult and tricky and rolling away!
Sammy wonders aloud how far down the singles go and Mel answers, “Not far love, just keep going!”
Sharif’s stacking them up very badly, causing Teresa to go a little nuts and swear a whole bunch and pull all kinds of strange faces, even for her!

But Sharif thinks they can win it.

Meanwhile Holly and Mel have moved about half the tuna, as have Nathan and Andrew. Very impressive on both counts!

Amanda and Sean are barking orders at each other and going pretty well. Cameron stacks Sammy up high with cartons and singles. “Eeep!” One falls into her face and she holds it in place with her nose!
Cam’s wall building skills are also not great. They’re all over the place. Sammy tells us she loves him, but geez!

Tiffany’s getting quite excited. Not because her and Bob are winning but because Holly and Mel are giving the boys a real run for their money!
The girls are done with their singles and Nathan and Andrew still have about a thousand to go, plus a bunch of cartons!

Holly and Mel aren’t fighting. Sammy’s very surprised!
They’re both working real hard and encouraging each other. Words like “proud” even emerge. Holly tells us that she never thought she’d get to hear Mel say those words. She’s really happy and says that being there has been so worth it.

Nathan’s having a lot of trouble. He tries to carry a bunch at once but they all start dribbling out of his arms as he heads back down the track.
Then Andrew and his multicoloured undies try a different approach to stacking them.

Holly calls out to Mel that she needs to think of that wedding dress!
Nathan says it’s his money, everyone’s trying to take his money!
Holly’s hurting a lot by this stage, but she can’t and won’t give up.

Holly and Mel’s stack is starting to look very unstable though. It started out good but the higher and higher they go, the worse it looks.
Holly hollers to Mel to come get some more. Nathan thinks they’re arguing but they really aren’t, they’re trucking along nicely.

Then some of the other teams start calling out encouragements to the girls, too!

But will they win? Well, you’ll have to wait until Sunday. Unless someone spoils the result for you before then!
Someone’s looking to end up in the medical van though, so it doesn’t look great for somebody! Has Nathan overdone it? Has Holly and Mel’s stack collapsed and crushed Ajay?
Also, at the weigh-in there’s a bunch of dramatic talk. Holly seems to be saying mean things to Andrew and Nathan seems most unimpressed!

18 is very young to get married - i was surprised to hear it..
  • Amy
    Mel's getting married?! She's 18 ffs!
  • viickyy =)
    So what.
Its not a crime to get married at 18.
    Good for her =)
  • So? She's getting married, not having kids then getting married. Good for her, I say! ;)
  • Amy
I don't think in this day and age anyone knows what they want for the rest of their life at 18. Go out, have fun, get some life experience and then settle down! I think it's insane.
  • But when is it okay, then? 19? 20? 21? Etc. Different strokes for different folks. So long as she really loves her boy it's a good start. :)
  • Yep, Nathan is down on the ground.

I dunno, you can never tell with the Biggest Loser ads, the 'argument' between them might be nothing, but the brothers hardly look chuffed.

I saw a TV ad about an hour after and Nathan was on the ground with lots of people around him so it may be him, you can never tell though. It looks like the Yellow team has it, as the focus shifted to the stability of their tower rather than simply moving the tuna cans.
  • viickyy =)
Mythor i must say that your recaps are quite funny =)
Just the first line had me on the floor laughing.

    YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
    Go team yellow!!
i really hope they win, they did really well in this challenge.
And i wonder who is in the medical van.. that cant be too good.
  • Thanks, Viickyy. :)

Yes, I hope the Yellow Team wins. They seem to be really getting it together now and it's good to see.
