TBL Australia 4×14: Elimination pits Mum and Daughter versus Best Friends in a brutal deathmatch… TO THE DEATH!
Previously on The Biggest Loser, challenges and weigh-ins and letters from home, oh my!
Tonight it’s elimination night once more. Julie and Meaghan, the mother and daughter team, face elimination alongside Jeda and Jodi, the best friends team.
“2 Couples, 1 Critical Elimination”. Man, everyone’s getting in on that craze it seems.
Who’ll be eliminated? Here’s another spoiler for you – it’ll be a couple of girls!
Everyone heads out of the weigh-in room. Bob’s happy that he’s the Biggest Loser for the second week running.
He thinks putting in the effort and getting the results sends the message to everyone at home that he really means it.
Meaghan and Julie would have been above the Line but for the 2kg penalty. Nathan says it’s pretty bad luck, Julie thinks it’s disappointing.
Meaghan also asks if Jeda and Jodi are okay. They’re sulking, but they say “fine”. And say their future is in everyone else’s hands.
One of the other girls who is facing elimination expresses concern for you and all you can think about is yourselves?
Jodi has an aside to say that when it sank in that they were below the Line, she was extremely angry because they don’t deserve it and she wanted to point to the people she thought did deserve to be under the Line. She’s a real charmer.
Holly’s feeling pretty powerful with her double vote, thinking that it could be them who sends someone home. She says to the group that she’d’ve preferred to be under the Line so they wouldn’t’ve had to make the decision.
Nathan says in an aside that Holly was running her mouth about how hard the decision but he thinks it won’t be hard at all, they’ll do as Andrew and Nathan say…
Holly and Mel chat with Meaghan and Julie first. They talk about how Julie and Meaghan have had to vote before and Holly and Mel will have to vote for the first time.
Holly says in an aside that her and Mel really like Meaghan and Julie but they also have to think about what will help them in the long run.
Jeda and Jodi are next. They try playing the “We really like you and that’s why we didn’t vote for you last week” card. Nevermind that their vote was strategy and they’ve been badmouthing Holly and Mel all week!
Jodi doesn’t want them to use their kids against them, don’t throw it in their face that they want to go home to be with their kids.
Mel sums it up very nicely, “If you don’t feel like you’re ready, then you’re not ready!”
Holly gives both girls a big hug of sympathy.
Nathan says they gave the double vote to Holly and Mel because they felt they’d have some input on the vote.
He also confirms that he and Andrew have a gameplan and the plan involves Jeda and Jodi. First in an aside, then right to Holly and Mel’s face.
Mel says in an aside that an alliance in the game is not good unless you’re in one and the first chance you get, you’ve got to do it, otherwise you’re stupid!
Hi Ajay! Hi Ajay’s enormous sparkly ring!
Ajay recaps the events of the past week for us all, including Julie and Meaghan’s 2kg penalty. Ajay also says to Jedi that they worked hard but it wasn’t enough. Jedi have a very dirty look on their faces from the get-go!
Meaghan doesn’t want to pass the Nothing bracelet on to anyone and nobody wants to have it!
Julie says it’s a big effort but she wants to be proud of herself and not be seen as a failure to her family.
Jodi’s not ready to go home. She’s confused and doesn’t understand why she’s sitting there right now. She’s still talking about not deserving to be facing the vote.
Suck it up honey, you didn’t lose the weight you have to face your fate… or something like that.
Nathan looks nervously at Holly and Mel as Ajay talks about the Double vote. Having second thoughts there? He could have given it to Jodi and Jeda instead, don’t forget!
Sammy says both couples deserve, want and need it so much. The people they’ve chosen to stay inspire her and want them to stay, so their vote is for…
Jodi and Jeda: 1
Amanda says they’re very upset about having to make the decision. Jeda and Jodi are Mums and Amanda’s a mum, so they’re voting for…
Meaghan and Julie: 1
Erm, hello. Julie’s a Mum. The proof is right there!
Sharif says one couple has shown they’re very strong and despite their reservations they’re sure the couple they voted for could do it on the outside.
Jodi and Jeda: 2
Jodi looks a bit like the Godfather being asked for a favour…
Nathan and Andrew’s vote is based on the friendship they’ve made in the house so they’re voting for the other couple…
Meaghan and Julie: 2
Ben and Sean have voted for the couple they’re not quite as close to, though they’re friendly with all four, so they’ve voted…
Jodi and Jeda: 3
One more vote for Jodi and Jeda will send them home with 4 of the 8 available votes.
Holly says her and Mel were given a second chance last week and this week they have the double vote which gives them a lot of power. They’ve decided to use that power in not only a way that will benefit the couple that stay but also benefit herself and Mel in the weeks to come… They’ve voted for White Glowy Couple!
They really shouldn’t have a Black Team this year, they should have a White Glowy one.
Holly says the couple they’re sending home will benefit by being out of the house as much as it would benefit them staying in… they’ve voted for…
Jeda and Jodi: 5
Cue look of complete astonishment from Nathan. Shock. Horror even!
Mel looks a little upset about sending Jeda and Jodi home. Julie looks very relieved!
Jodi says she wishes she had the confidence in herself that the other guys have. If she could do it on the outside, she wouldn’t be there.
Jeda says it’s only been 2 weeks, only learnt a little bit. It’s going to be very tough outside. They never put themselves first, their kids are their life.
“Four reasons why we’re here, it’s our precious children. Apparently that’s not enough to some.” Oh so they can’t use it to eliminate you but you can use it to try and save yourself from elimination? Get fucked.
Nathan says he knew that and he tried to save them and he’s very disappointed to see Jeda and Jodi. They gave the sisters the double vote with the belief that they’d essentially get a triple vote. Which the sisters never agreed to, only agreed to listen to what they had to say!
Mel retorts that it’s a game and Nathan says of course it’s a game and they’ve played it very well. “So, game on.”
Holly says they couldn’t foresee that it would be between those two couples, so don’t stand there and make out like it’s the sisters sending them home because the majority wanted to send them home and to keep Julie and Meaghan here. Which is absolutely correct, even without the double vote they’d’ve been sent home.
Nathan says they’d spoken that it would be a joint decision and Holly tries to reply that they’d spoken after, but Nathan dismisses her, very condescendingly.
“It’s a game.” Holly says. Jodi says that it’s a game but it’s also people’s lives. Which Holly knows and then Jodi drags up the “We didn’t vote for you” thing again!
Sharif and Teresa’s vote and Ben and Sean’s surprised Jodi. Apparently she didn’t spend enough time making friends.
Actually you spent plenty of time befriending the douchebags of the game, that was your problem.
Sharif says he has no words that will ease her pain but can she honestly look to her left (Julie) and say she’s more ready to go home than Jodi is.
Jodi says it’s hard, every time someone says they should be there, she can relate to it. She’s been with her husband for 9 years (… she’s 25) and at Julie’s age she won’t even have a husband because she keeps getting fatter!
She’s been putting herself down all the time, “Look at me, what’s to love?” Not much when you’re trying to condemn two other women to an early grave…
Ajay tells the girls that they won’t be the Biggest Losers and Jeda says yes they will!
But it’s time to go!
Jodi gets a big hug from Julie. And Mel. And a couple of other people. And they leave still sobbing away.
You’re all now one step closer to winning, Ajay says. But don’t get too comfortable. So many dramatic twists and surprises to come! But, you know, good luck and all!
I wonder how many times she’s broken ranks and just said, “YOU’RE ALL DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!! AHHH HA HA HA HA!”
Ahem.
Jodi and Jeda arrive home to big hugs and kisses from their kids and husbands. One of Jeda’s girls is TINY! TINY I SAY! AWWWWW!
2 months on they’re racing each other across a local park. Still look pretty big, hard to tell if they’ve lost much since leaving. But then we see their audition reels and they look very different to then. They’re still chubbymummies but they seem to have a lot more energy for their kids which is what you always want to see come out of the show.
Jeda and Jodi have lost 18kg and 23.5kg respectively since appearing on the show. Not too shabby a result!
And tomorrow night Holly is peed off that they got attacked after the elimination when it wasn’t really their fault. Nathan declares that he regrets nothing and later says that they “won’t be getting an apology!”
And then half the contestants are lead… to the gates of hell! Out in the deep dark muddy forest for a session with the Commando. Oh dear. They’re definitely doomed.
