Biggest Loser Australia – 2008 Viewer Survey

Yes, once again we are being asked our opinions via a survey on the official Biggest Loser Website.

Questions range from whether you like The Warehouse and The Walk, to what you would like to see more of, to whether the Black Team twist was interesting or exciting to you.

The answers you provide have the potential to change the game forever!

… Sorry.

And doubly sorry, since we got fucked up the ass by this last year when they completely ignored what we really told them, though the survey claims The Warehouse was created as a response to the request for more nutritional information.

For anyone who has missed the handful of episodes featuring the Warehouse, the contestants are asked to choose between two or three sets of food that they are supposed to eat for the week. Virtually every week the selection process has been heavily overshadowed by fighting between teams and even between teammates. Nutritional information is slotted in halfheartedly and often only from the mouths of contestants. Would you trust people who weigh over 100kg when it comes to what foods are good for you?

Yeah, I don’t either.

I’m not saying don’t fill out the survey. You absolutely should fill out the survey. Maybe they truly will listen this year, you never know!

But even if they don’t then next year you can join the rest of us in bitching about that damn production team. It’s fun!

If you want to complete the survey, click here. It should take you around 5-10 minutes to complete.

An enhancement that I have suggested is that the series could have a team of about 5-6 members, who are in some way apart from overweight, suffering some symptoms of health that are weight related. Similar to Sean and John , but not compete in anything ,but rather be there to improve their health. This could become the educational part of the series and replace many of the repetitions that are beginning to bore all the viewers. Each week these competitors would undergo a weigh-in, a Blood sugar measurement, a blood pressure measurement, and a 1 km walk where heart rate and heart rate recovery can be measured as well as the time it takes.
This year I was far more motivated by John and Sean (until John went troppo ) and seeying Sean back the second time was awesome .
To see people's health improving from a well balanced diet and excercise program would be such and eduaction and inspiration.
  • One of the rumours I heard was that Ajay wants out, so they may not have a choice, they may have to get a new host.
I certainly wouldn't blame Ajay if she did want out. The show's not exactly showcasing her talents and she cops a lot of stick for it. Paycheque is probably nice but I guess that only covers so much indignity.

I filled out the "which Australian personalities do you like" bit with something along the lines of "Don't get rid of AJ. Just let her be herself and more animated" Seriously. She's such a funny person and we don't get to see it, but instead of fixing THAT it looks like they're shopping around for a new host :(
  • Yeah, I was baffled by that one. Does anybody seriously like watching the quitters? I hate them and wish they'd devote no more than a minute to them if they walk out.

I think they probably learnt from last year and decided not to have any comment boxes. Some of us had quite a bit to say... :D

I find it interesting that in one of the lists of "how much do you like the following" one of the options was "contestants walking out" - so if the majority like that, they'll make it happen more? Hmmm...

    I wish there'd been a comments section.
